HOVER LOTUS RACING CAR

Hover made some great toys including this rather slick Lotus Racing Car, model number 870, I saw on an old auction site. I saved the pic.

Many Hover boxes have the multi-coloured stripes around the lid edge.

Hover also released knockoffs of project SWORD vehicles covered many times over the years here on Moonbase C.

For a cloner they really weren't that bad at all and the standard of this toy looks spot on.

MORTOYS GEM: THE SPACE BUGGY

I've been looking for Mortoys online of late.

They made the wunderbar Six in One toy set based on SpaceX and Gerry Anderson vehicles.

In my searches I came across this real gem on Worthpoint, new to me and new to the blog I think.

Mortoys Space Buggy.

The only other time I've seen this vehicle was as a model kit originally by Monogram in 1959, the Space Taxi as displayed on the excellent Fantastic Plastic site https://fantastic-plastic.com/SPACE%20TAXI%20PAGE.htm

It's really ambitious I feel for Mortoys to make this, a Willy Ley design, into a battery operated plastic toy.

It came with two 'floating' astronauts and a hunk of lunar surface, which I assume the toy orbited over by way of a rod I can see in the box.

All in all a gorgeous toy!

CAVE TROLL THUNDERBIRDS

New Zealand:

The new Thunderbirds models were good but why the restriction on photography? The dummy cockpit of TB2 was made for promotion of the new series not even for the exhibit as was the large TB1. From what I saw of the new show building sets made no sense if animating the characters and hardware.

Possibly the Tolkein exhibit is fabulous if that's your thing but the bum's rush round Thunderbirds Are Go was annoying. The above photos show exterior of sales office/shop.

UNICORNS AND POO IN NEW ZEALAND

Further to the Unicorn post yesterday here are some NZ examples.

All over South Island we saw roadside signs for Horse Poo, far more direct than the UK Horse Manure.

The dog food if dry, I would have brought a suitcase full back to the US, instead I have these pictures.

The unicorn toys were sold at a Butterfly/Zoo Park. They had more fantasy exhibits than animals, must be what the customers want?
