Browsing my old photo archive under the mystery section I came across these four old chestnuts.

Still not ID'd, does anyone know what the main objects in the pics are [I don't!]?

WINTER SUNDAY

Its Sunday morning in late November readers. What are you up to today?

HOVER SPACE ADVENTURE CAR: LOOSE AT LAST!

This was the first picture I had of the Space Adventure car by Hover.

Carded.

Its got a red ball in the middle.

I was sent the picture about 20 years ago.

This was the next time I saw our friend, inside a Hover Moon Base set.

Boxed.

The ball's green in this one.

And now I've seen a another one online.

Loose!

Its only taken 20 years!

and this time the ball's blue!

Anyone got one of the Space Adventure cars?

ITS JUST NOT CRICKET!

Delving into my ancient archive of pictures I found this odd looking orange Cricket from SpaceX.

I thought, Hmmm, that's a new Cricket colour on me, orange!

I then realised its the Apollo Tracker! I don't think I've ever seen one in the flesh.

WAS ALIEN NATION ANY GOOD?

SCI-FI FILMS I ONLY HALF-REMEMBER OR NOT AT ALL

There are loads of Sci-Fi flicks I've never seen. Some I've seen the first half hour of too before I fell asleep in the Moonbase guard tower chair.

Ruffling my retroes I can think of a few right now:

There's one with James Spader where he's an astro-paleontologist. He's called in by NASA i think to look over something mighty peculiar in a large cave. That's all I recall. Spader is an odd leading man. Geeky and awkward. I did enjoy his roles in Wolf and Crash though. No idea what this film is called.

There's a flick called Space Mine or Alien Mine too. It stars Sonny Corleone himself, James Caan, again a very odd choice for the lead in a Sci-Fi film I feel. I think he befriends an alien. Anyone know it?

Flight of the Navigator. Now I must have seen this. Its famous. But I can't recall a thing except a poster I've seen showing a kid flying sat down in a glass ball. What's it about?

Mac and me. I get this mixed up with Marley and me. I think Mac is another nice alien like ET. Definately never seen it.

There's a flick about a spaceman who lands back in time only to have to fight dragons. The lead is a hunky kind of guy who's vaguely familiar. He helps the viking-like locals invent weapons. No idea what its called and I did fall asleep.

Time Cop. or is it Alien Cop? I remember seeing this in video rental stores back in the VHS years but never got it out. There's a mean looking fanged cop on the cover I think, but that might be another film called Wolf Cop!

Spaceballs. Not seen this. What? You've never seen Spaceballs? No. Recommended by Terranova47 among many others. There's a neat prop post coming up about this soon too.

THE FIRST: MARS STILL LOOKS A LONG WAY OFF

I watched episode 4 of the First last night on catch-up.

Its the series about a Mars Mission with Sean Penn.

Trouble is there's no Mars in it yet. Its all about the human build-up to launch day a year off.

The relationships are very interesting especially the troubled Colonel and the grieving Mission Controller. The British Project Leader is a bit annoying though, although I love her holographic display in the garden.

The musical score is excellent too.

At the current rate of human interaction i doubt we'll see a Mars lunch until the final episode.

Is anyone else watching the First or maybe you've seen it already?

Couldn't resist buying one more! This is yet another SRN6, this time a Matchbox Superkings one. Dates, apparently, from 1974 and this one seems in lovely condition.
