Blog reader Paul Kaiju is an American toy maker. 

Not just a toy maker but a modern plastics magician who regularly creates and manufactures stunning toy figures, vehicles and housewares.

Paul's productions are infused with his own sense of Kaiju monsterdom and Japanese SF, together with a whole chimera of other Science Fiction influences.

So this winter I was thrilled to receive a trio of his marvellous Quateroids, a glorious plastic rendition of the Martian locust oozing through the seminal movie Quatermass and the Pit. These pictured critters have an iridescent finish from Paul's own bug farm.

These Quateroids would make an ideal prop for a Quatermass and the Pit diorama!

And possibly my favourite of tonight's rattle bag of You Tuber clips by NKGT5656 of Japan, this scintillating footage of an amazing model sailing underwater.

I don't know what the model yellow sub actually is [anyone?] but it reminds me completely of the WOMBAT seen in Stingray [I think?]

what's the best Christmas gift you ever got?

What's the best thing you ever got at Christmas as a kid?

Maybe it was a toy or a game or a jigsaw or even a book? Maybe even a record? Just maybe it was a pet!

As to myself I would say that the top spot goes jointly to the Haunted House Game [drop it down the chimney: video courtesy of You Tube] 

AND the awesome action figures, Colourforms Outer Space Men.

saturn tv robot: cheaper by the dozen

The robots are coming!  I saw this on the Bay and thought, Wow! 42 Saturn TV Robots! I bought one of these fellas at the start of the Nineties in Woolworths, Whitby.

I adored that Saturn robot as it was at the beginning of my collecting bug. I could have watched its illuminated TV screen all day!

The head full of missiles was just terrific and they couldn't half fly!

Like all of my bots it was auctioned off in the early Noughties.

Not a cornerstone of the Robot world I was nevertheless smitten when I saw this TV Saturn once again along with 42 of his mates.

Did you or do you have a Saturn TV?
