novelty dog radio anyone?

I remember this radio from the Seventies.

A Snoopy-like hound with a woolly hat and a plastic strap.

For some reason I thought he was Muttley off the Wackey Races at the time.

No idea were the controls were now.

And just where did we take these things? Out in public?

Some scans showing the Space:1999 article from the UK Titbits magazine published July, 1975, a couple of months before the show premiered on UK  TV.

The Mk. IX Hawk features quite heavily, rather than the Eagle, and there's mention of the high budget and guest stars.

I remember picking this up at the time, as in pre-internet days I was keen to get any info on Gerry Andrson's new series.

Obviously, the write up is just a press release, so no interviews , apart from a 'spokesman' from ATV.

I thought we'd see alien cities like this every week

When I finally got to see it, I thought the episode, Earthbound' was great, and Kaldorian spaceship certainly looked like alien technology. I wasn't sure what to make of it when I first saw a photo of it in the article.

With improvements in remote sensing probes, Spacex decides to dispose of some of its fleet of Reconnaissance R2 craft. 

One is purchased by the Royal Air Force. 

With its stardrive removed, the craft makes an ideal training vehicle for high altitude flying.

DALEK SPACESHIP SET TOY

A few photos of the assembled Dalek Saucer by Character Building.

Although it's put together like Lego, when its made up it looks fairly good from some angles.

It comes with a couple of Daleks, which are nice accessories, and a detachable Lego- looking skimmer, which is best left fitted inside the saucer.

Here we see a US Airforce Nova Rocket, ballistic missile, photographed shortly before the formation of Spacex. 

All Airforce Nova's were handed over to the civilian Spacex organization where they became launch vehicles for manned space flight.

SHADO CON 2 CONVENTION ANNOUNCED

Following on from the successful SHADO Con 1 that took place this year, plans are already underway for SHADO Con 2 , with an announcement yesterday that it would take place on Saturday June 30, 2018.

One special guest has already signed up (subject to availability) Deborah Grant who appeared as secretary, Linda Simmonds in the UFO episode Psychobombs.

SHADO Con 2 will take place at The Quad, in Derby, the same venue used for the previous convention.

SHADO Con 1 featured some great interviews and signings from many guests from the series, plus a great model display.

Further guest appearances, screenings and when tickets go on sale to be announced by the organisers (at Markers Universal)
