HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR SPACEX TOYS?

I've been thinking about how best to store my small band of SpaceX toys. They are quite fragile and fiddley after all. I found an old wooden case in our shed, which had handy compartments and I thought, yes! SpaceX! 

Alas, the compartments are too small for many of the toys but I took a few snaps before returning to the drawing board. Why didn't Tri-ang or Multiple Toymakers not make a case for the range? It seems obvious that kids would want to store their precious cargo like they did seven years later with Star wars figures. Of course displaying and storing toys are two separate issues but the ideal solution would combine the two!

A PLASTIC OTAKI TOY RACING CAR

Last year I found the connection between the Otaki monster car [above, purple] and the Probe Force 3. I've wondered since if any other Otaki Monster cars existed as toys rather than model kits. Looking at the above catalogue page there's another Otaki racer kit pictured, to the right in green.

Well, fortuitously I also found this plastic toy on Yahoo Japan which looks just like the green racer, particularly from the side view below [I'm unsure if the typed company name is the toy manufacturer.]

Could it be just a matter of time before we find a plastic toy version of the Otaki monster car and therfore a toy relative of Probe Force 3?

Apollo Moon Expo Stage I

Do not adjust your set. We control the horizontal. We control the vertical. You are about to enter a region of space toy collecting which is vague, nebulous and given to exhibiting the effects of time dilation. In short, Apollo Moon Exploring, or to give it a convenient handle 'APEX', is a difficult subject to cover exhaustively, due to the many copies, knock-offs, remoulds, rebrands and cross marketing within the many series. So, rather than attempt to catalogue every available item, I will share some photos of what we have in the various Moonbase collections. First up, following my visit to the sanctuary of the Moonbase Hydroponics Lab (woodsys back garden) last summer, here are the contents of Woodsy's boxed set, together with one or two bits from the remains of my 45 year collecting spree. I'll not explain too much as to what everything is, as we are mostly familiar with these wonderful toys.

THREE MEN IN A MOONBASE

My fellow bloggers Bill and Scoop and myself are all meeting up next weekend for a get-together. There'll be curry, beer and lots of SWORDtastic and SpaceXial toys, models and conversations. Bill will take secret snaps as usual and keep you up to date. The weekend will be rounded off by a visit to Doncaster Toy Fair where we hope to find three mint boxed Project SWORD Moon Base Play Sets! ha ha!  T-Minus 7 days.

SARGE TITLE IDEA: THE FLAGS OF REJECTION

Borrowing from the Digital Art Gallery Com I was inspired to use these battle flags as the basis for a SWORD SARGE story title: The Flags of Rejection.

Now I just need to write it!

BATTLE PLANS

I'm currently planning to continue my SARGE storyline. I've been thinking about a battle scene and can't help imaging Project SWORD set in the Middle Ages for some reason! A future Middle Ages! 

When I imagine battles I always recall Ron Embleton's marvelous figures and skirmishes in the Finding Out Book of Battles, which I loved as a kid. There was something unique about his style as in this trio below. Those legs and flared trousers!
