Terranova47's Frank Collins Space Pirates Strip
Terranova47's OKAY Adventure Annual
HEROES OF THE SPACEWAYS
Another gouache painting I did back in 1999, this time showing some of the fifties British comic space heroes. They are from the top, Jet-Ace Logan & 'Plumduff' Charteris who appeared in Comet and Tiger comic, Dan Dare & Digby, from Eagle, and Captain Condor from Lion.
Guardians of the Universe Car
Not sure what to make of this Super Car. I think I like it.
The box art reminds me of a neat Seventies LP record cover!
The name Guardians of the Universe is a good one. There's a definite He-Man vibe to the driver! G -Man!
The graphics detailing is cool as well.
This was on auction. I think it's tin but can't be sure. I see this general toy vehicle as a tinplate car everywhere. What is it? What make of car?

The Shark Jetter
Saw this Shark Jetter on auction a while back.
What a fantastic design and I love the window box, which has a Bandai look to it.
Looks like it can go on water too!
Not sure of the make. Have you anything like it?
Do you like it?
SPACELINES
A painting I did back in 1999, inspired by those fifties comic strip space heroes like Dan Dare and Rick Random, and influenced by the art of Keith Watson, Frank Hampson and Ron Turner.

Kevin's Earliest Collectables
My Earliest Collectables
Scoops fab post reminded me of my very first collectables I acquired circa 1990, pictured, including that super Space Ace pop-up book.
Such fantastic days they were, my first discoveries in the vintage toy world.
Pictured too is my first re-found Project SWORD toy, the Space Glider, which cost me a whopping £20 back then! I was so chuffed to find it. It brought it all flooding back and lead to my SWORD checklist later.
Batman became a favourite thing to find too. I was so excited when I spent quite a bit on a mint sealed Corgi Juniors Batmobile in a blister, from TV Toy Zone, which you can see bottom centre in the lower pic.
Alas, I re-sold everything here except the Glider and SWORD annual!
Anything here you had too?
Which were your earliest collectables readers? Pictures welcomed.
FIFTIES SPACE ACE POP-UP BOOK COVERS
A couple of old pop-up book covers, both from the 1950's. The first featuring one-off character, Ace Brave, was illustrated by artist, Ron Turner, the second featuring Dan Dare was illustrated by Desmond Walduck.
