Hi Paul,
As a remark to the Tarheel case (posted previously), I was under the impression that there was a distinct manufacturer / distributor "T" between the SWORD issues and Tarheels proper which continued with the molds and added slightly different box illustrations. These were later adopted by Tarheel and repackaged with new box designs with photographed box tops. Or, alternatively, the "T"'s and the Tarheels were two parallel issues for different markets in different countries.
It is true that the "circled T" logo has a resemblance with the Tarheel "T with the Globe" seen on the box, but which came first? Maybe initial Tarheel "T" was designed to resemble the "T" logo already stamped on the toy moulds. (The logo which Tarheel was later to replace with their own featuring the two kids.) - Let me stress that this thinking is based on bits and pieces absorbed along the way and not based on any hard fact. But I would love to get to the bottom of this.
Cheers,

Can anyone else help Arto with this? Fascinating, Woodsy.
