Well, I would wager that are a combination of figures and knock offs. From the waist down they seem to share the same components. Those look to me to be from Combattler V. The tank treads that are stuck forward look to be the same even. Arms appear to be from C V also but a lot of designs from the 70s were very much alike. Heck Voltes V and Combattler V have a lot of similarities so that could be an influence also. The head reminded me of Daitarn 3 but I know it is not D3. The chests are hard to pin down. We have the big red V would would say Great Mazinger but then there's kibble atop it which says nope. It also reminds me of a off base Voltes V chest. The other I have no idea at this time.
Heads are so damn familiar to me but I can't pin them down.
Oh and to answer your question about the jet/fighter/carrier toy, I'd say it was a standalone that they repurposed. Probably one of their own designs seeing how many straight sides there are, easier to manufacture. The Varitank does evoke thoughts as they share slab sides, command cockpit up top but are way different. https://can01.anibis.ch/Figurines-Manga-Shogun-warriors-Mattel-Action-vehicules-Varitank/?464x348/0/60/anibis/947/978/020/zVORFkJtekS8aW_kBWCF-w_1.jpg
I see what you mean about the Varitank lance. Thats a good phrase, slab sides. Its lime some Starcom toys. I quite like the look of the Ceppi Ratti tank.
I knew I'd find a possible source for the head! Had to dig a ways back as horned heads on robots went through stages. Going all the way back to 83, we have the hero robot from the Time Bokan series, Ippatsuman. I think it is a very close match.
