MORE STAR COPS PROPS!

Hi,

Had a bit more luck adding to my Star Cops collection. These are items that I think were made for the show but probably didn't get used. 

A set of patches that would've been worn on uniforms and a couple of vinyl graphics that were for the sets, one for the Ronald Reagan, the main American station and one for Hanimed, a medical company that one of the characters worked for before being recruited by the Star Cops.

CROSSROADS

A further example of Century 21's more unusual merchandise licences was 'Crossroads'.

It was one of the early UK TV soaps, an ATV show, which aired for many years.

It also enjoyed a comic strip in TV Century 21's comic stablemate 'Lady Penelope' too.

Did anyone like Crossroads and do you have any of the comic strips or other merchandise readers?

Astronaut Barbie

Hi all,

Another clip from You Tube, this time a review of the Astronaut Barbie doll, by Toy Polloi. This seems to be a fairly recent doll, 2019. 

The fabric space suit has printed-on detail, with white plastic gloves, boots, and helmet. It comes on a card, with a pink and white rocket printed on it. Ten pounds in Britain.

Over the years there have been a few other space or SF related Barbies. This site gives a run-down of these space Barbies - she first joined the US Astronaut corps back in 1965 (when she was only 6 years old) as Miss Astronaut. 

She also served aboard the USS Enterprise from the Star Trek universe - worryingly, she is dressed in red - and we all know what happens to Star Trek characters who wear red.

DO YOU NANCY DREW?

 I saw someone reading a modern Nancy Drew hardback like this today.

I've never read any Nancy Drew and know nothing about Carolyn Keene. In fact the whole kid sleuth mystery genre passed me by. Enid Blyton and all that. I missed out.

I did notice a Nancy Drew board game in one of my Desi Scarpone reference books years ago. I loved the simple box art from 1957. Does Nancy always have a torch?

The board graphics too are just wonderful and in a sort of pastel gothic style I really like with names like The Sign of the Twisted Candles and Moss Covered Mansion!

WHEN THERE'S SOMETHING STRANGE

I used to love finding Ghostbusters toys at car boot sales in the Nineties. There were tons of them and many were still boxed. Ecto-1 had to be the top prize along with the huge boxed fire-house. The figures were fab too.

CHUAN SHIN CHINA PIONEER SAUCER

 

I think I've blogged this afore years ago, its the Chuan Shin 2001 P2ONEEL FLY SAUCER aka the Pioneer. I assume P2oneel was one way of saying it!

Its an interesting looking toy. What are its influences readers do you reckon?
