I spent about a tenner on this lot. Great fun as always looking for old toys.

Help! Randall Needs a Marx Apollo Hap Hazard Astronaut Helmet

OK Woodsy, 

you may have a lead on this ...

This figure was my first astronaut toy, probably 1964-5 or so. 

 I have kept it in good shape but he is missing his helmet. 

Any resources that you are aware of that might have a helmet? 

(Can anyone help? A spare helmet?)

The maker was MARX and the figure I have seen listed as Colonel Hazard (?). 

I have a pic attached of my guy and one from Etsy with his helmet. The Etsy sale is not available any longer.

I'm also attaching a few pics of me and my artwork which I think you will like.

Ed's Rover: Marx on the Moon

Here we have a Marx Miniature Moon Rover from the 1960s-'70s wandering around (looking for a McDonald's?). The rover is missing its clear plastic dome, but the astronaut is fully suited so why would it actually need a dome?

Did You Have a Flashy Flickers?

Did you have a flashy flickers readers, the Marx movie rifle?

I had one and loved pointing the projector onto a pale wall to see those flickering stories that came on little spools in separate boxes.

I can't recall what the stories were. Can you readers?

Here's my Marx tin-litho Jalopy from ca.1927. 

Apparently, cars like this were not unusual back then and Marx made several variations. The car features an early version of a friction motor and does work!

MONSTROUSLY NUTTY MAD AND WEIRD

 I love plastic friction novelty toys.

This monstrous fish I saw online caught my eye!

Released by LMR - a Hong Kong company largely new to me - this crazy toy is clearly a knockoff of one of the famous Marx Nutty Mad vehicles ..... or is it a Weird-Ohs kit I'm thinking of?

Here's a Nutty Mad Moysha by Marx, who appears to be in a Blue Bird!

I love the little sign, To Hades!

You gotta love the Monster Craze of the Sixties!

ARTO'S TELSALDA TOY CAMERA GUN

Last week reader and blog friend Arto visited Forssa toy fair and got this interesting plastic Telsalda 35mm camera. It says "Made in Hong Kong No. 201", on the inner rim.

Googling it, myself and Arto agreed it was the same as the more common Rayline toy camera gun.

The Rayline version was released on a blister card as Secret Camera Gun 7.

It was also available in the 1965 Rayline Secret Agent 707 Counter Spy Set, an unlicensed Man from Uncle knockoff.

This Rayline Counter Spy set appears to have been 'inspired' by the licensed Marx UNCLE Counterspy Outfit. This is its display as featured on Worthpoint.

In the mid-Noughties I set about putting together this set in its official card box, which I blogged about on MC previously in 2013, when I got everything I had out on the garden table.

Despite further googling, neither Arto nor myself could find any further info or images of his new TELSALDA version of the camera gun.

ED'S HAULERS: MARX TRANSPORTER

Woodsy and Fellow Moonbasers,

Here's a wonderful Marx auto hauler I've had for many a moon now. The first attachment is a page from a '50s Montgomery Wards Christmas Wishbook featuring this hauler as part of a larger service station playset (BTW, I have that playset but haven't yet taken photos of it). 

This hauler is designed such that the upper deck actually tilts down to accommodate unloading of the cars. I have two of these haulers, but the second one is missing its unloading ramp. Unlike the other transporters I've sent photos of, this one is about the right size for a 3-rail O-gauge train layout. 

However, due to space limitations, we tend to make the roads on our layouts quite narrow, making this piece more of a display piece to set off to one side.
