Watching old episodes of Toy Hunter has been fun.

Here's two old IDEAL games that Jordan found in American lofts.

This one, Ideal's Mr. Rembrandt, I don't know but I like it. A sort of Mr. Machine robot combined with Spirograph. It draws shapes as it motors round its paper. How cool is that!

Is it one you know? 

This one I do know, Electronic Detective. At least I know of it. I found two of these in the late 1990's at car boot sales and sold them on. A fabulous 'computer' helps work out who the perps are in a sort of electronic Guess Who.

toy hunter: american readers help!

I am still missing my weekly dose of vintage toy hunting on the US TV show Toy Hunter here in the UK. Its been ages since anything was on British TV. 

Can anyone tell me how many series of the show there were and when did it stop being shown on US TV?

TOY HUNTER 2015?

I've heard that Toy Hunter is back on UK TV. Is this right? Is it a new series? Anyone seen it?

TOY HUNTER RARITIES

This week I watched about 4 episodes of Toy Hunter. which my Daughter had recorded. Regular readers will know that I have a soft spot for Jordan Hembrough and his toy hunting TV show from the States. We even met him at the Birmingham NEC here in England last year. What a nice bloke!

Anyway, watching Toy Hunter is always an education. Jordan's knowledge is encyclopedic and his interests eclectic. He mentioned a whole gaggle of rare vintage toys I'd never heard of and here are just two of them.

UZAY Star Wars Action Figures: these were knockoff 'STARSWAR' figures from Turkey from the late 1980's [ notice the misspelling of Star Wars ] and hugely appealing to Star Wars collectors. The most famous and sought after is the 'Blue Stars', pictured below, which Jordan found on his show. Its a Hoth Stormtrooper painted blue and a group of Blue Stars seem to be stood in a pool of custard on the card art!   You can learn all about them here at the Star Wars Collectors Archive. Fascinating stuff! 

COLONIAL LANDRAM 40 from Mattel's Battlestar Galactica line: from how Jordan reacted and what I've subsequently read this is the rarest of Mattel's toy line and possibley only available in Canada. It has the style and look of a vehicle from a Gerry Anderson TV show! For some reason it also reminds me of another old space toy, maybe Starcom? TOY HUNTER AXED!

My good friend and fellow blogger Will Shwartz has told me that Toy Hunter, the fab US vintage toy TV show, has been axed in the States after just three series. It's a very bad decision. I love Toy Hunter and met the cool host, Jordan, last year. It was made for us modern vintage toy collectors and there's never been anything like it. TOY HUNTER ANYONE?

Is anyone watching the new series of Toy Hunter? I think its series 2. I really love it and reckon it's made for Moonbase readers or anyone into vintage toys like most of us. OK, there's an emphasis on the value of toys but it's made for the telly and most people want to know.

This week Jordan was searching for a Kenner Bigfoot from the Six Million Dollar Man line. I had no idea it was that rare and I'm struggling to recall what he traded for it, some sort of rare GI Joe set I think.

Cool stuff indeed!
