Brian's Monster Christmas Stuffing!

Hi Woodsy.

You seemed interested in my Celery and Onion Stuffing, so I'm giving you a basic idea of what goes in it.

Cubed, toasted bread of your choice( I prefer white or sourdough), diced onion and celery, sautéed in lots of butter.Add Chicken or Vegetable Stock to cover.Bring to boil.Add bread to vegetables toss to coat bread.Cover pot and let it sit a few minutes on low heat.

The bread absorbs the liquid and the steam softens it a little The bottom heat toasts some of the cubes and adds texture.The seasonings I use are garlic powder, dried Sage,Thyme,and Parsley.Its pretty simple and really tasty!

I don't like to put stuffing inside a Turkey,I think there's a risk of bacteria from raw meat leaching into the stuffing.I just serve it on the side!

I didn't include exact measurements because you might prefer metric(which I don't know too well)and also because you don't really need measurements for this recipe.You can go with your intuition on it.

BRIAN'S MONSTER BASE BASH: MEGO'S HEROES AND LINCOLN'S MONSTERS SLUG IT OUT!

Reader and monstrous toy collector Brian F, he of Monster Base NJ, has kindly sent me this fabulous snap from a 1976 Montgomery Wards catalogue, which inspired him as only Lincoln Monsters can!

Yes, the Wards catalogue shot gave American kids a mouth-watering and magnificent bust-up between Lincoln International's Monsters and Mego's Greatest Superheroes.

Robin get's to side-kick the Hunchback: Supe get's a right-hook into Wolfie but Frankie has deffo got the better of Green Goblin. He's toast!

You would never have guessed it looking at the catalogue's angelic cover!

BRIAN'S NEW LINCOLN MONSTERS BY SPECTRA - X

Hi Woodsy.

Here's the special Limited Edition Lincoln Monsters Blood-A-Rama Shock Fest set.

Frankenstein's Monster and Count Dracula are faithfully restored with a few new wrinkles( I like Drac's ghastly green face!) and they are now stars of imaginary movies; " The Evil of Count Dracula" and " The Power of Frankenstein".

Included are some promotional pics and a "certificate of membership just like the fan clubs of yesteryear. The figures' box art shows both original artwork and new artwork .They even come packaged in a sleeve that looks like an old VHS rental box!

The figures are also very well built and clothed, making this set a solid value. A void in my monster collection has been filled, and my "monstrous " childhood past has been re-visited.

Hi Woodsy. Took my annual drive to Wildwood to see the sights and think about things past, present and future. 

And...I think Ill have an Ice Cream Cone from Kohr's Bros.(Mint /Chocolate swirl with chocolate sprinkles).Here are some random photos including a new ride called "Cygnus X-1".

I also got some cool toys on sale, as the stores get ready to clear inventory and close for the Winter. (Brrrrr...don't like to think about that just yet).

Here's what I found in Wildwood's toy shops. There's Funko's Primal age Batcave, an interesting Batman/ He-Man type mash up. I also found a McFarlane Hunchback playset in package for a very reasonable price. Ol' Quasimodo will be part of my upcoming Halloween toy display. More on that later!

Here is my Kaiju Room!

 In its current state not too messy, but getting tricky to navigate in. Other Monster Base denizens are stored in totes, residing in the attic or spare bedroom closets. I rather enjoy my house and don't want to move, but I'd love to have these obscured toys on display also. My future plan is an out-building on my property, possible a pole barn, to keep my overspill.

Brian F's Amazing Land of the Dinosaurs Play Set

Hi Woodsy.

Im replying to your recent request for pictures of a dinosaur playset.

I received the Marx Prehistoric Times Playset when I was very young,and it started a lifetime of fascination with Prehistoric Life .

After all these years,all I have left of it is a few of the dinosaurs, buried deep in storage.

What I do have is this Land of the Dinosaurs Playset, found at a flea market about 10 years ago.

It contains the rock and cave formations of the Marx Playset, with a selection of dinosaurs in some new, bright colors.

Of particular interest is the large purple T-Rex,which is the original Marx sculpt, later replaced with a slimmer T-Rex in a livelier pose
