 The Missus and me went to the Yorkshire Auction House viewing day. It was fun and not something we do often.

There were hundreds of lots. Here are a few of the boxes of mixed toy lots we saw.

We then moseyed through ancient York and visited a few Charities  before eating a delicious Doner.

Here's an interesting scout round the biggest sales in 2019 of rare books, papers and collectables from prestigious auction houses. They included Sir Isaac Newton's autograph, a dodo skeleton, an RUR, original NASA moon landing filmstock and Darth Vader's original helmet!

LOTS IN SPACE

I saw this old lot on auction ages ago and saved the picture. There's so much on there that's good. JR21 rocket launchers, NaSa Probe Force 3, PHIX Capsule, T Rocket and Bluebird Space Vehicles. Not sure what's in the bag.

EXCALIBUR'S GERRY ANDERSON AUCTIONS

Browsing Gerry Anderson I came across Excalibur Auctions and their lots relating to the great man. They include the auctioned collection of Simon Archer, Gerry's young biographer who was tragically killed driving to the Anderson's home in 1993, the same year that Thunderbirds had a huge second success on UK TV.

There are some amazing items in the many lots including Simon's fantastic personal collection of photographs, negatives and memorabilia auctioned in 2022. Have a look. What do you think?

What a Reg! The Original FAB1 Number Plate!

This looks like it was a great Bonhams 2008 Auction!

Somewhere out there is the original FAB 1 without its number plate!

and that original colouring book artwork looks stunning. I wonder who the artist was?

A JR21 FAB 1 - drool, a plastic Silver Shadow? Rolls Royce - drool, A corgi Major Holmes Wrecker - drool.

What are those strange box-like thingies to the left and right, one green and one brown?

The Space Ship X5 with the green base reminds me of the JR21 New Flying Saucer. Has anyone got one of these Space Ship X5's?

I had never seen the Tri-ang Loch Ness Monster before. Must have one of the rare models from that range. Here he is on the Minic catalogue included with the models.

WHO IS THE MASTER OF THE TANTALOUS VASE?

I enjoyed oggling over this old auction mixed lot. There's something for everyone in there! One thing that caught my eye was the boxed Mysterious Tantalous Vase by Peter Pan Playthings, bottom centre in the lower box.

Now that's a toy I've not seen before. Just what is a tantalous vase? Anyone know?

Looking again, what is the green thing just above to the left and what is that brown action figure just behind the Tantalous Vase next to the Coffin Bank?

PROJECT'S WORD

Browsing old auctions I came across this from Excalibur in 2022, a small lot of Project SWORD collectables from the Simon Archer collection.

You will remember that Simon Archer died tragically driving to Gerry Anderson's house to deliver the manuscript of one of his books thirty years ago in 1993.

The lot contained this boxed Re-Entry Task Force 1.

One end tab looked fine too.

Bit the other tab looks odd. Where's the word Project gone?

Any thoughts?

Addendum:

A quick Google revealed more images of other Task Force 1 box ends. Not the best pictures of them but it may help.

Looks like there should be the word Project at both ends.

I liked the look of this old mixed lot I clocked on a lapsed auction.
