SCOUT MEETING

 Doing a Japanese GLIGO online search it was great to meet up with a miniature Scout 2 again, here in green.

Scout 2 is one of the three scout ships from the Century 21 Toys Project SWORD toy range, which I adored as a kid.

Being ,asters of reduction, the Japanese have miniaturised many of the SWORD toys and issued them as small gifts in candy.

I used to collect these but buying from outside Japan has become difficult.

Have you anything like this?

Miniaturisation is a difficult thing but I think the Japanese have it nailed.

Japanese Glico toys always amaze me. Just look at this lot I saw on a Japanese auction. See anything you like?

STOPPIN BY ON NOPPIN

 After a long pause I've been browsing Noppin again, the Japanese marketplace.

I used to buy loads of small Project SWORD miniatures from Noppin years ago but I'm unsure if Westerners can buy anymore. Certainly Yahoo Japan stopped trading with many countries.

Anyway, I've saved some snaps from my latest gander of mostly Glico vehicles and rockets, Glico being a candy company, the premiums from which are massively collected in Japan so there are thousands of them on Noppin. Searching can be difficult so I use terms like Glico Showa, Glico Universe, Glico toy, Glico Thunderbirds and so on. Have a go!

Speaking of which, here's Glico's Thunderbirds Radar Car, which I first saw in 1996 in Dennis Nicholson's majestic Andersonalia Book.

We've seen this before being mislabelled as UFO elsewhere online but its still nice.

GLICO FLEET

I like this little bunch of Japanese miniatures. There's a Moonbus -like double-domed car, a deltoid jet and a rather neat green Blackbird. 

Do you have any miniatures like this?

SATELLITE UNBOXED

 I liked this  little satellite.

It's a boxed Japanese miniature, which they are just so good at.

I'm not sure which way up it should be.

It's probably by Glico or Morinaga or Meiji or similar.

I borrowed the pic from the auction site Noppin.

EASTERN PROMISE

Japanese miniature novelties are just ace. Like this bundle I saved the pic of on Noppin. Looks at all those cool craft and vehicles! The green one with the number 7 on the back has a whiff of SHADO2 from UFO. Do you like miniatures from Japan like these?

MINIATURE TV UFO CAR MYSTERY: DOSSIER OPEN

For years I've seen the odd hint online of a miniature toy car or buggy that looks like one of the futuristic cars in Gerry Anderson's UFO.

I have a feeling the toy car being hinted at is the large windscreened blue car in this Japanese lot.

Here it is close up as pictured on Yahoo Japan.

It's a Japanese GLICO miniature candy car.

Does it look like anything in UFO readers?

Does this Kinder sports car look like anything in the UFO TV series?

Are there any miniature toy cars from UFO? 

Maybe Konami? Yujin?

MINIATURE SID

I really like this miniature UFO SID.

The red and blue SID is a Japanese miniature or omake, likely makers would be Glico or Morinaga I would say.

I haven't seen any other miniature UFO toys but I have seen a similar SPC and MSV from Captain Scarlet.

I shall keep my eye out for little UFO's though.
