I love how this Marx spaceman has been hand painted by an Italian modeller. So neat and very Matt Mason!

Those ARE the classic spacemen I loved as a kid! I've never seen that big floating pose before. It's a pretty clever piece of moulding, as the whole thing is supported just by his wrist and umbilical tube.
ReplyDeleteI suspect if I could examine the actual toy, there'd be a trimmed inlet sprue under his right foot, to aid the injection of molten plastic!
I had a great Sci Fi friend who would come to visit and hide those little plastic spacemen around our house as an Easter Egg hunt!
He died several decades ago, of cancer - far too soon.
We've left his spacemen where they were hidden, to rediscover all over again. I even purposely hid one in the roof of my home cinema, as a tribute to him.

Very poignant about your friend Gunny Looey. I hope those spacemen stay hidden. It's a lovely figure the painted one. Not sure I ever had these. All I remember are my golden ones!
