Arto picked these up this month.
He explains ...
"They are both new old stock, which is quite amazing. Set no 1 has a Finnish instruction book and set no 2 a Swedish one.
On the inside of the box top, both have green Finnish guarantee labels - Printed in England! Could not resist these museum quality pieces."

Anyone else got any?
What a wonderful find. Well done. I never had any Meccano myself. I did have a similar, plastic set from Torro (NZ company).
ReplyDeleteFantastic condition Arto! They really are museum exhibits! How were they kept so well?
ReplyDeleteIt is a mystery, Woodsy. What makes it extra special is that both are aimed exclusively for the Finnish market.
ReplyDeleteIf you look at the contents of the Set 2 (second photo) you can see among the parts a little green label containing the contact info of the then Finnish Meccano dealer.
Wow wow wow! Museum-quality is right! And so perfectly arranged in their beautiful boxes. A perfect trip back in time. SFZ
ReplyDeleteThose are super Arto! It's always fun acquiring mint samples for the collection.
