Left Hanging: The Giant Captain Lazer Mystery

Another old photo! 

Thirteen years ago I re-posted this 1969 image of a giant suspended Captain Lazer, which I borrowed from this great website: 



At the time it generated a vibrant and thoughtful debate in MC's comments. Re-reading them it seems to me that the mystery of the image was never really settled.

    My immediate reaction is it's a hung miniature set up with the real toy.
    Of course, any photo after 2024 is ho-hum AI...
