Hi,
As I am retired, I fulfilled my obligation to visit a garden centre this week. To my surprise, in their post Christmas sale, they had a large picture of a starfield, which actually lit up! It was meant for Christmas Village models but I thought it would be good for dioramas and it was cheap, so I bought it!
Anyway, here is the Galileo flying through it.
Happy gardening,
Kevin

Oh wow, I want one! Any details you can share?
ReplyDeleteThe backdrop was made for Christmas Village displays, which garden centres sell lots of bits for. There was no makers label on mine so I don't know who makes it. The Galileo is the old AMT kit which I heavily modified to look right.
DeleteIt's good to see you are fulfilling your marital obligations in such a rewarding way.
ReplyDeleteYep, got to be done!
DeleteThere are so many useful items hidden away in corners far removed from modelling - yet they are exactly what we need. If only we knew they existed. Thank you for this one.
ReplyDeleteThat's true.
Deletedid you come across the captains log in the garden centre?
ReplyDeleteOddly, it had a Robin and a sprig of holly on it!
DeleteThey were actually a Robulan and a Sprigularian Kev.
DeleteWith reference to Paul's point about finding useful modelling things in odd places, like garden centres, I designed a Gelf Fighter spacecraft for Red Dwarf (series 6 or 7), which was built around a garden leaf blower, back in the 90s.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
