Imbued with an urge to spring clean the attic, I've stacked my old VHS tapes and sorted them alphabetically (yep, I've too much time on my hands!).
In a similar vein I've uncrated my old horror paperbacks and lined them up neatly in a bookcase.
When I get time (!) I'll sort these alphabetically too.
Always good to have a cold beer to hand when doing stuff like this!
Are you spring cleaning readers?
Very impressive. I put my DVDs in alphabetic order. It gives rise to amusing things like Bagpuss being followed by Black Sails, or Pride & Prejudice followed by The Professionals!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Love it. What's Black Sails?
DeleteBlack Sails is a violent, raunchy but very good drama series about pirates operating out of Nassau in the 1700s.
DeleteSounds good Kev. Will look it up.
Deletethose big box nasties and horror pulps are crying out for their own blog! I’ve been saying this for the last 15 years and now you clearly have time on your hands! and you even have a nascent blog waiting in the wings! Throw open the gates and sweep the path leading to the Towering Peaks of Monsterdom! Your public demands it! signed, Angry of Burscough
ReplyDeleteHey, Angry of Burscough! Gimme chance! I've just got them all out again! Ha ha!
DeleteA very nice collection. Trying to get my DVD collection organised at the moment. SF, horror movies, Carry On comedy films, James Bonds, etc, all grouped together, so I can find things.
ReplyDeleteThanks and Hope it comes together Paul. Youve an amazing DVD collection
DeleteVery orderly, Woodsy. Do you have a chance / time to watch them too?
ReplyDeleteThanks. I doubt anyone could or should watch them all Arto. It might leave you permanently scarred! Ha ha!
DeleteI hope to watch a few tho.
DeleteMy DVD collection is pretty much alphabetical, although I have groupings for WW2 (recently expanded with all the research for my puppet film!) Exploitation (hello Razorback!) Star Trek, Star Wars, Spy's and Animation/Anime.
ReplyDeleteAs I've transferred the discs to hanging sleeves (Horror! No boxes or liner notes!) It means I have some odd pairings, like Ed Wood sharing a sleeve with The Disaster Artist.
When I need to evacuate the cinema in case of Bushfire, I can roll most of my collection out in a single storage box!
...and of course, my Gerry Anderson section!
DeleteSome very nice titles in there! The Wizard of Gore is one strange movie! SFZ
ReplyDeleteNot seen it SF. It's a card boxed presentation pack.
DeleteSociety is hilarious....
ReplyDeleteReally, I found it quite grim!
