I found it a while ago and just got round to playing it, I remember recording it from Radio 1 either 1978 or 79, I remember the dialogue like it was yesterday, there's also Empire strikes back and Return of the Jedi.
I don't recall Radio 1 broadcasting those stories.
Enjoy! Regards

Its a great adaptation by the late Brian Daley, who also did the excellent Han Solo tie in novels. There are radio adaptions of all three initial episodes, Hope, Empire and jedi. Ive got three of them on audio cassette. They were also issued on cd too and are chock full of background info and extended sequences, which really bring the story to life. Ill have to grab a copy of that you tube vid!
ReplyDeleteThis was a true revelation for me, thanks Mark. By far I've listened to the first half hour of the radio drama, and the story seems to follow along the lines of the novelization (which was based on the original screenplay by Lucas). However, from Wikipedia I learn that also all new material was written so it will be a thrilling listening experience! Widens your Star Wars the original trilogy universe, just like the Star Wars Holiday Special did (never mind the contents).
