With temperatures soaring and parts of the Arctic ablaze I thought I'd re-watch The Day The Earth Caught Fire from 1961.
A brilliant and salutary sci-fi tale of how not to mess with Mother Nature and what might happen if you do.
Sound familiar?
As Fate would have it, just last week I re-read an interview in Filmfax magazine with director Val Guest on his career, and of course The Day The Earth Caught Fire is his all-time favorite film; apparently he had to use his own cash to bring it to the screen!
ReplyDeleteSmall world! Even a hot small world Zigg. An indie film then eh, and what a flick. Totally convincing and very very topical.
