A good while back Arto and I were discussing the fabulous box art of the vintage "Space Age Toys" and a possible connection to the Ray Guard X-2 toy box art.
Well, thanks to the The Peter Hansen Collection of Comic Art, Vintage Toys and other collectables - Part 3 at Excalibur Auctions, we can now enjoy actual pictures of the plastic remote controlled
toy itself, which I think is the first time for MC.
And the interesting instructions with 'patent pending'.
What do you think readers?

I love that.
ReplyDeleteThere is a true landible model rocket called "spread eagle" that only has two engines:

I wonder if a scaled up version of this toy could have its internals as a drone.
Both Glushko and the F-4 both demonstrate the ultimate victory of thrust over aerodynamics anyway.
Interesting stuff Anon.
DeleteI had a version of this toy in white, with chrome fins, but it was a radio receiver! It was almost identical in shape, except the enderside was closed off to secure the radio parts and there were two dials at the back between the battery pack. Bill
ReplyDeleteAny chance of a pic Bill?
DeleteWhat a weird concept - a toy called "Space Age Toys"! Seems oddly self-referential! SFZ
ReplyDeleteI know SF!
