This is the US Saturn 5 plastic toy model released by Countdown circa 1969.
At first glance you could mistake it for the Century 21 Toys Cape Kennedy toy.
I understand that the Countdown model was available at Cape Kennedy itself.
Does anyone have one?

That is a great looking toy. Alas, I never had anything like that.
ReplyDeleteI don't have one but I like the look of it. I've got the Project Sword one and a little model of the crawler but with the shuttle on it. I'd like a model of the launch tower but they're not easy to come by.
ReplyDeleteConsider also the Jupiter C Rocket & Gantry kit by Revell - images to follow.
ReplyDeleteLooks great.
ReplyDeleteHow big was it ?
The actual Jupiter C rocket was approximately 70 feet tall. The kit at 1:110 scale would make the model rocket 7.62 inches tall (18cm) and the gantry close to 12 inches tall (30cm).
ReplyDeleteSorry Terry, I mean how big was the Countdown Saturn V rocket toy, in the picture ?
ReplyDeleteNo problem Mish, If Woodsy saw this on Worthpoint then the box states that it is 16 inches tall.
ReplyDeleteHi yes soz, Ive been travelling. That sounds right Terry. Quite a thing over a foot tall then. A beautiful object.
ReplyDelete16 inch tall. Thanks Terry.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good size for a toy rocket.
