I've had quite a few Action Man jeeps come through Moonbase, but never a yellow one.
This is the Safari Jeep by Roly Toys, who I guess are German.
Not sure if Palitoy did a Safari uniform for Action Man but this European keep would have suited Big Jim and his passion for the great outdoors.
Maybe Action Man Adventure Team too?
You have anything like this?

That is a great looking toy. It does say Made in Western Germany on the side of the box. Rolly Toys (two letter L's).
ReplyDeleteAh, West Germany. Thanks Paul. I guess it's from the 1970's. It'll be a big box!
DeleteFor a couple of years, a company called Formative International produced a wide variety of 1/6 scale figures, gear and jeeps. The figures were ok, the uniforms hit or miss, the hard plastic accessories fairly decent and the jeeps awesome. They were a nice scaled jeep and had many varieties available. A shore patrol in grey, medic, desert raider, hq , and a flight line escort jeep for the Air Force. The escort jeep was molded in a nice adventure team yellow. I’m sure there may have been other jeep variations that I don’t recall. Current price is around 200 dollars on the secondary market.
ReplyDeleteYears back, a company called Formative International produced 1/6 figures and accessories and vehicles. This figures were ok, uniforms were hit or miss. The hard plastic accessories were very good. The vehicles, just a jeep with variations, were really good, The ones I recall were a grey Shore Patrol, a tan desert jeep, a hq jeep with canopy, a medical jeep with stretchers, a plain green jeep, and a "shelf warmer" of a flight line jeep that was adventure team yellow in color. A little modding was all it required. Slap storage boxes on it, cover up the black 5 point star on the hood with an AT logo and instant AT Jeep!
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds fab Lance! Have you any pictures?
DeleteI think these are best known as Soldiers of the World - here's an eBay link to one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166096365493
