A set of felt tips and a TV21 colouring book, with cover art by Ron Embleton.
I remember seeing them being advertised in TV21, but I can't say I ever saw an example in real life.

Thank you for posting this Scoop.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to see this.
I had one of these.
My parents bought it for me from a shop in Blackpool after a trip to see 'The Lights' back in goodness-only-knows-when.
I remember being very unhappy with the results I achieved with the felt-tip pens.
The colours were far too intense.
Perhaps I didn't use them correctly; maybe you were supposed to water them down or something, or perhaps it would have been better to shade with them rather than use solid blocks of colour (which is what I did -- in my youthful exuberance).
Either way, once the colour was applied, there was no removing it...

I'm glad it brought back some memories, Dal, I only ever saw adverts for the set in TV21.
ReplyDeleteThe description of the pens as water colours is intriguing, which ties in with your memory of the colours being too intense. I'd imagine the pages of the colouring book that came with the set just weren't up to it.
