My journey into the American confections at our local Spar continues.
The latest find is a long yellow wrapped chocolate bar called Butterfinger.
I loved it!
Crispy cracknel covered in chocolate. It was really delicious!
Is it a bar you know?
My next American morsel from the Petrol Station Spar will be Milk Duds. Now what are they?
Butterfinger follow-up sent by email. Milk Duds are just that, Duds, unsatisfactory chocolate. Even the present re formulated Cadbury Milk Chocolate is better.
ReplyDeleteThanks Terran. So, Duds are unsatisfactory eh. I'll let you know when I get a pack!
DeleteI was never a big fan of Milk Duds myself, they were supposed to get chocolate but the taste seemed off to me. Baby Ruth or Peanut M&Ms are the best.
ReplyDeleteMmm. Peanut M&Ms. Delish. They used to be called Treets in the UK when I was a kid.
DeleteI just bought a huge 'family size' bag of Peanut M&Ms - we all luv 'em here. Oh, and BTW, I have a TON of M&M related O-gauge toy train rolling stock, buildings, vehicles, and even a flying saucer out in The Cave!
DeleteBe chocolate, sorry about the typo
ReplyDeleteButterfinger used to be a great bar. Now, they made it waaayyy too sweet. I agree with the assessment of Milk Duds - Truth in Advertising! If they still make them, Goobers and Raisinets were fantastic. SFZ
ReplyDeleteOo, more sweeties I've not heard of. Like Goobers and Raisinets. SF.
DeleteRaisinets are good - choco covered raisins - Yum! I used to work at a theater and Goobers, Raisinets, Milk Duds, were all sold there. Soooo, naturally I had to 'test' them hahaha. I think Raisinets were my favorite. Milk Duds were okay IF they were fresh, otherwise they were just sticky, off-flavored lumps of gooeyness. Goobers were sort of okay for me (not a favorite though).
DeleteYUM! :-) Butterfinger's (I call them 'Futterbinger's' just to mess with my granddaughter LOL) are among our favorites - although they tend to stick to one's teeth more than other candies - except maybe Gummi Bears. Hope you like them Woodsy!
ReplyDeleteLove Gummi Bears Ed. My fave Haribo sweety bags are Colour-rado and the rarer Micro Mix. PS. Futterbingers! Ha ha! We called butterflies Flutterbys when our daughter was a nipper!
DeletePS - Pics on the way!
ReplyDeleteDanke schön.
