Arto kindly sent me this image of his latest find, a neat lenticular postcard featuring none other than our friend..... Action Man!
It's fantastic and all new to me.
What do you think readers?

Oh, I love 60's lenticular space scenes! My immediate thought here is these cards often used existing items, like Action Man in his space suit AND a customised Major Matt on the porch!
ReplyDeleteThe LEM in the background is a bit more of a mystery, given these 3D set ups were usually shot "live" --Photoshop for compositing images hadn't been invented yet!
So, Moonbasers, do you think that LEM is custom built, because of it's required size? It's certainly much larger than any of the available plastic model kits!
I feel for the poor Major with his tin foil boots and gloves! I'd suggest the LEM is a custom built model, possibly wood and paper, with a bit of good old Blue Peter 'sticky back plastic' thrown in for good measure. Ive got a couple of lenticulars, they are lovely things and so reminiscent of the sixties! Bill
