Spent a happy afternoon with a friend dressing Action Men.
The Grenadier, the uniform bought in Otley vintage toy shop. The man is a modern Duke GI Joe.
The scuba explorer, a fabulous set kindly donated by blog friend Tony K. The man is a modernish Hasbro figure.
Have you got any dressed figures?
They really look impressive, Woodsy. Very impressed to see the Scuba guy making a bit of a splash :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tone. Thanks also for the fab scuba donation! It was fun dressing them.
DeleteThe clothed GI Joe I bought in Manderake Japan is safely in my suitcase, as I prepare to jet home to Australia. The modern Joes all have Kung Fu Grip hands like Gorillas!
ReplyDeleteLuckily I scanned a vintage hand while I was doing some restoration work, so I'll 3D print some better ones.
I'll be modifying this one so his joints are really loose and I can use him as either a marionette or rod puppet for filming.
I know, those massive hands struggle to get through vintage sleeves Looey! Safe journey home!
DeleteThose hands on the scuba diver indicate he is an Action Man style body. The Classic Collection had a smaller and less girthy hand late in its run.
DeleteJoe hands "evolved" over the decades. We went from hard hands to kung fu grip hands to HOF hands which were like chunky mittens with no movement to AM beefy hands to solid classic collection hands to "kung fu" CC hands to less girthy CC hands to floppy hands to jointed fingers hands. IIRC. I know there's some specialty hands in the CC line as well.
