I do have a few autographs in my collection and most of them are from Sci-Fi and horror films. Here are three of them I got on the bay about ten years ago:
Mara Corday - the beautiful pin-up and actress star of Fifties Sci-Fi greats like Tarantula
Rex Reason - starred as Dr. Cal Meacham in the seminal This Island Earth
and Dr. Tom Morgan in The Creature Walks Among Us
and one final one, which I don't recognise. You?
Reader Richard suggested it might be Welsh thriller writer Craig Thomas.
I personally had assumed it was a sci-fi actor of some kind as the other two in the bundle are.

That's a good ebay find, Woodsy, especially with Mara Corday, Hollywood scream queen of TARANTULA amongst the signatures. I think the Psychometry Test would would look good in a frame. Something a bit Ken Kesey about it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tone. It was a chance win years ago to feature on my old toy stall but i think I stopped doing toy fairs before I could display them. I'm not an autograph hunter but I've always been thrilled by any I found at car boots and charity shops. Probably my best personal finds were Mike Yarwood the old comedian-impressionist who had signed his book I found and Shirley Bassey who had signed an LP snaffled in a charity box. I may have had Charlie Drake as well on an LP.

ReplyDeleteI think the previous owner got them all at a con of some sort where the three actors were signing. I imagine he had an exercise book, which he had autographed and eventually sold off. Nope, didn't pay much Kid. It was a Yorkshire bargain!
