Blog reader Arto has sent me pictures of a recent fab find. Arto explains "The toy is the Japanese KO (Yoshiya) tinplate Super Car, marked Super X on the wings. A thing of beauty! Missing the other rocket on the edge of the wing (also the other rocket should have a thinner tip), but this is easily replaceable. In any case, it is quite scarce. The only hit I found was on the Alphadrome site.
I learned only recently that Supercar was aired here in Finland in 1963 by two pioneering local television stations. That may explain why this toy, along with the super rare Sculptorcraft moulding kit, have surfaced here, the latter even with Finnish instruction sheet included!".
Super Cool!
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteMay we see that Finnish instruction sheet, Arto? Pyydän ...
Pyyntösi täytettäköön viipymättä, Filokonnatar (quite literally: coming right up, Philotoadia)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Arto
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks also for translating your reply into English for the rest of the bloggers. Saved me having to do it for them (grins).
