I'm really impressed with what you do with "scrap". I've got boxes full of stuff in my garage for exactly the same reason. The trouble is they've been there for 40 years and I haven't used them yet! Having got out of "The Business" and having adapted my workflow to a hybrid physical/digital style, I'm finding even less call for them these days. I took the painful step of starting to pull them out and savagely binning perfectly good widgets. If I can't see an immediate use for them, I doubt anyone else will. (apart from people like you!)
This ongoing process is causing me a lot of angst, but I have to do it. I was a different person when I collected them!
Thank you, much appreciated. Yeah, it's interesting isn't it. I suppose a lot of what I do is recreating 60's, 70's and 80's props, so the junk I keep is that era or older to be of use. Mind you, it's a balancing act, I don't have loads of space so there's a limit on how much I can keep because it might be useful at some point!
Amazing prop Kev. What's it made of?
ReplyDeleteThanks. Made from scraps really, an old aerial, some panel light collet, general bits from my spares box!
ReplyDeleteYou do amazing work Kev! I look at my scrap box and think "Junk". Y'all look in your scrap boxes and come out with wonderful creations!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much. It's surprising how useful boxes of random junk can be!
DeleteHail the scrap box!
