Some photos of my Dinky Jenson FF die-cast toy, which would have appeared between 1970 -74.
It's quite a detailed toy, with jewelled headlights, numberplates, opening driver & passenger doors, an opening bonnet, and a fairly detailed interior with folding seats. The front wheels turn slightly too.
As a point of interest the FF was also available as part of the short lived Dinky Action Kit build-it - yourself sets. A novel idea, and I can just imagine the mess that was created by putting the toy together and giving it a thick coat of dark blue Humbrol enamel. I reckon buying the ready-made example was always going to be the better option!
That Jensen is sublime, and I had no idea that Dinkys came in kit form - I can't imagine that working out well! SFZ
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Zigg. I suppose with lots of people keen on restoring old toy cars nowadays a decent result might happen, but back in the day, I don't think so.
DeleteLove Jensons Scoop. Dream of owning a real one! The Interceptor is my fave but this FF looks superb too. What style! Great photos.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I do like Jensons, Woodsy. The Interceptor is a great looking car, but it's certainly a size. Not so good for tootling road town.
DeleteI always liked the Jenson CV8, the same car used in the TV series The Baron.
