The smiling couple at the back are my late folks. I've no idea where they've been or going to or the date, but I assume it's the late Sixtie's, early Seventies.
Anyone recognize the bag or the lettering? Looks like a British Airways plane to me.

Update!
Hi,
Just saw your post with the photo of your parents getting off a plane (Great photo). Did a quick Internet search and I think this is that exact aircraft!
Cheers,
Kevin
Not British Airways, it's Britannia Airways late 60's
ReplyDeleteThanks Terran. I nearly put Terrainian then! Another airline of the Fireflash kind!
DeleteIt is a bit of luck having the civil aircraft registration visible. G-AVRM is a Boeing 737-204, first flight date 2nd August 1968. It later served with several smaller airlines in the USA.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. Thanks Paul.
DeleteThe bag features a Teachers whisky ad and logo, so I suspect it was one from the Duty Free area at the airport, in whichever country your Mum and Dad had visited.
ReplyDeleteYes, ta Mish, looks as if they're coming home, you're right. It's just so sunny and I assume it's Manchester Airport in the 1960's. My folks lived in Preston.
DeleteWhat a marvelous photograph, a magical memory! SFZ
ReplyDeleteThanks SF. I'm pleased they got away without kids. I was their fifth so they deserved a few holidays alone!
