Woodsy,
I was going through some old papers, and found this odd drawing I made circa 1970.
It shows a side view of my Tarheel Nova II, along with some strange typewritten "specifications" which I do not recall at all!
Anyways, there it is, and it gives you an idea of how obsessed I was with that toy at the time!

This takes me back Rob, I spent years documenting stuff like this in my 'Space Project' books! I filled about 20 notebooks with my scribblings and drawings! This is much more precise than anything I ever did! Bill
ReplyDeleteLooking at your Project Blue Book journal, I can see that you took this chronicling of Space Culture far more seriously than I - and were a far better artist! I just did the random crummy sketch here and there. Your Bluebook Journal really impresses me. SFZ
DeleteThe blue book is probably about the sixth or seventh edition of a long line! I never spent more than a few minutes on each entry, it was more about quantity than quality. I'd carry them around all over and even be doing the entries in the back of the family car!
DeleteLovely! I was not artistically inclined as a youngster (nor later in life), but your typed pages remind me of my own childhood undertaking. I used to go through our home encyclopedia and laboriously type all the space-related entries for insertion into my special space folder. Still have it somewhere!
ReplyDeleteWe need to see that Arto!
DeleteFantastic work Rob! TV21 would have snapped you up!
