My Missus picked up this loose bundle of knockoff Action Man equipment and other bits on a trip to Germany last year.
Some of the items I recognise like MP truncheons, the diver's dagger and the two green helmets, but many I don't recognise.
Some of the more striking items are the red-handled weapons, the red hat, the silver Conquistador silver helmet and the two loose heads. Any ideas?
The blue collar at the top of first pics, plus the two matching blue pieces at right of the same pic, are from the Action Man Space Ranger outfit (approx 1993-95). The outfits for this new breed of muscled-up Action Man were colourful and often imaginative, but the figures were poorly proportioned and afflicted with limited articulation :)
ReplyDeleteGreat info Tone. Thanks. I often see 'modern' Action man figures and clothes at car boots but don't bother with them to be honest. They feel like imposters!
DeleteTypo Alert - Sorry Woodsy, I meant to say 'Space Commando', not Space Ranger! The Space Rangers were part of the original Action Man Eagle-Eyes range.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, the Space Ranger, a a very rubbery affair I recall!
DeleteI never had action man down as a blue collar worker. I think the nasty looking red handled devices are from the late nineties Action Man Kitchen Devil outfit, your missing the striped apron, bad of assorted vegetables, plastic side of beef and imitation cookbook. You do have the Keith Floydesque wineglass however.
ReplyDeleteIs it April 1st?
DeleteTypo Alert II - 'bag of assorted vegetables' !
ReplyDeleteHmm... red knives... Kitchen Devil... can only be the AM Gordon Ramsey Limited Edition :)
ReplyDeleteTYpO 3 - 'Ramsay' Ohhh Yesssssss :)
ReplyDeleteAction Cook!
ReplyDeleteHi! Knives with red handles are all from the 90s action man. The two black guns in the lower left corner are from mantenna, a Masters of the universe character. The red piece that looks like two oxygen bottles and the black tripod are galoob's A-team or a bootleg line using the same casts. Golden gun is from Sectaurs. Cheers, Juan
ReplyDeleteSuperb Gog! Thanks for the ID's!
