To commemorate our old family tradition of watching Disney Time on the TV on Easter Monday when I was kid I thought I'd try to find an episode on You Tube.
I wanted something from around 1975 or 1976 about the time we enjoyed our family Easter Monday for the last time.
Alas, I couldn't find a full episode but thanks to keen Dr.Who fandom there was this clip of Tom Baker performing his links as presenter of that year's Easter show.
Disney Time or Disneytime was a TV show on around 5 or 6pm on TV every Easter Monday during the late Sixties and Seventies. It was 30 to 60 minutes of clips from classic Disney films like Aristocats, Jungle Book, Dumbo and Snow White. I don't remember the presenters but Tom Baker must have been one of them going on the You Tube footage I found.
The annual show was hugely popular.
I've timed this post for 6pm, the time I think Disneytime was on the telly.
Do you remember it?
Yes, although for some reason I thought it was at Christmas, unless there was another one then.
ReplyDeleteThere very well could have been Andy. It would make sense. Disney were the kings of kids TV specials at one time weren't they. There was Disneytime and Disney films on all the time on the telly not to mention at the flicks as well! Now they own Star Wars!
