Reader Harold Wright has kindly sent me this picture of his original painting by Warren McAllister. It dramatically portrays a Boeing 707, in Canadian Armed Forces livery, flying over the ocean.
Warren McAllister worked for Boeing as an artist and painted a classic Dyna Soar during his time in the Sixties.
He also painted this beautiful sleek SST flying over a coastline. You can see a second SST flying lower down with its swing wings out [picture: Worthpoint].
It would appear that the above SST art was also used by Hover for the box art of their plastic toy version of the SST as seen below [picture courtesy of Paul Vreede].
Sorry I'm late but Happy B-Day!
ReplyDeleteWarren also painted a picture of my Dad, S.Daniel Hage, Industrial Products Division of Boeing.

ReplyDeleteWarren painted heads of state that Boeing presented to them along with purchase of jets. Warren offered some of his paintings for sale way back in the past. I have one of a Seattle dock setting where he wrote the price on the back as $95.00. His work was also published in a national calendar. I also understand that on a whim, he submitted designs for salmon art work to go on a Bellevue overpass and it was excepted and used. He did animal and outdoor paintings along with boats and ships, besides the illustrations he did as a Boeing top artist creating artwork of Boeing jets and prototypes. I was also told he did work for the history of flight or museum of flight, displaying art work depicting aircraft from the early years of flight and ending with modern aircraft.
