Me and the duaghter's mutt Blue are busy doing nothin' cos' its Saturday. Leafing slowly through old books is the order of the day and as you can see Blue just isn't interested in Rocket's Missiles and Spacecraft published by Odhams 1968. With it's brilliant Robert McCall cover art it's stuffed full of pre-Moon Landing gems, one of which is the Lunar Orbiter a la Spacex! A wonderful book and more to follow from it.
Lo and behold the Orbiter turns up in the next book on the pile, the encyclopeadic Creating Space [Story of Space Age told Through Models] by Mat Irvine, Apogee 2002 [published by blog reader Darth]. If I've got it right the author suggests opening up the carded Spacex toy and actually painting it! Please tell me he hasn't actually done it and the other toy is a model kit! If you like space kits this book is for you!
Dismantling! Painting!! The man deserves to be savaged by a wee timorous beastie - until deaded!
