Well spotted, MJ! The architecture and Gum trees certainly look Australian. The license plates on the collector cars are all over the place, but there is a custom black NSW plate on one of them!
The only Air Show I've ever been to here in Oz, was at the Temora Museum next to the RAAF base in regional NSW. I wasn't in Peak Spitfire frenzy at that point, but the absolute star of the show was a formation fly past of a Spitfire and a Vampire! The jet was cranked down to almost stalling speed, while the Spit was going flat out. Oh, if only I'd known where my interests would develop. I guess with a strong dose of childhood nostalgia, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
My Grandad worked for Supermarine at Yeovil just prior to ww2, when Supermarine were building speed planes, he went on to do specialist engineering for x projects such as the Lysander and the midget submarines, his cousin who was also a dockyard apprentice at Cardiff docks at the same time was Neil Williams who became a famous stunt pilot google the Neil Williams memorial trophy for the full story
