To further celebrate heavy metal day here are some more obscure meteors of forgotten rockage, heavier than iron and as loud as a herd of stampeding centaurs.

Here's one the many fabulous album covers from which the tracks are taken.
I love this picture! Beans on toast, a sinking model ship and Concorde! Do you like it?
from the rare Thousands on a Raft LP by Pete Brown and Piblokto! 1970
What a cool album cover! Reminds me of the opening credits sequence of Hammer's 1968 adventure classic, The Lost Continent. Also, I recognize NONE of the bands listed on that Heavy Nuggets LP cover - guess I was never a Metal fan! SFZ
ReplyDeleteI do like that cover too SF! I must have a look at the Lost Continent. I don't know some of the bands either SF. Probably the most famous is Slade, who gave us the Xmas classic So Here It Is Merry Christmas. Terry Reid had a fabulous voice and I think he may have been considered for Led Zep before Robert Plant [I may have to check that!], the Move were a sort of supergroup as out of it came Jeff Lynne who went on to form the famous Electric Light Orchestra and Roy Wood, who with his Wizard gave us the Christmas staple I wish It Could be Christmas Every Day! Do you know any of them?
