While the Marvel Movie franchises tie themselves in knots with the current crop of multiverse themes, one series continues to impress. Currently showing the third and (apparently final) season, 'What If?' Is an animated feature looking at different aspects of famous Marvel characters, showing how their stories play out in the various iterations of alternate dimensions. One of my favourite themes is 'Captain Carter', a story which echoes the Captain America, in which Steve Rogers is critically injured in the lab, just prior to being subjected to the super soldier treatment, so Agent Peggy Carter steps up and climbs into the casket to receive the treatment. She emerges a strapping Amazon, who quickly assumes the identity of Captain Carter, with a uniform reminiscent of Captain Britain and a vibranium shield with Union Jack, provided by Howard Stark. Seizing the Tesseract before Red Skull, Stark Industries create the Iron Man-esque armour for Steve Rogers, powered by the unearthly cube, which is named the Hydra Stomper.

Rogers and Carter then take the fight to Hydra, before the Stomper and Rogers are seemingly MIA and Captain Carter is thrust into an alternate dimension, battling a tentacled horror.
The animation is slick and impressive and the stories are generally great. Captain Carter makes a live action appearance in Multiverse of Madness too.
The Marvel Legends figure of Peggy Carter has a good likeness of the character and comes with a shield. The character takes a sword into battle in one episode, so I whipped up a broadsword from model parts for the figure.
The Hydra Stomper is available in two styles, I picked up the Toybox version, which came with a Carter figure, but in a dreadful doll like form, even more cartoonish than the animation. The Stomper is a good rendition and comes with light and rather goofy sound effects. The hatch pops open and a bust of the scrawny Steve Rogers pops up.
The Captain Carter figure is intended to hitch a ride on the Stompers back, but the Legends figure is a touch too large to fit comfortably, but is reasonably in scale with the suit as a whole.
Fantastic and all new to me Bill. I really must watch this Carter animation, it sounds great. For some reason I avoid animation. I still haven't seen Mask of the Fantasm. Your two figures look ace and are intriguing. The swords good too!
