One of MC's posts mentioned the Matchbox Seafire boat model from the 1970s. Hot Wheels do a rather similar model, called H2GO.
This is a twin-hull, twin-engined, twin-seat racing speedboat. Very low and sleek.
Only the white upper hull is metal. The black lower hull is plastic, with chromed engines and interior, and smoke-tinted windscreens.
Red and blue tampo-printed graphics. The model actually runs on four small wheels, hidden under the model.
The model dates back to 2008, and has © 2008, '16 Mattel on the underside. Made in Malaysia.

Super cool but doesn't look at all practical as a rescue craft.
ReplyDeleteLike the Matchbox missile launcher I have that was sold as a rescue vehicle, I can't think of a situation I could be in that such a thing would be of any use.
ReplyDeleteThey used to have cannons to fire rescue lines to vessels in distress, but missiles seem excessive!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the Terrahawks mini battle tank!
ReplyDeleteThis is a tank with a rather large missile. One that could reach the other side of the country, we're talking tactical nuke. They labeled it as a rescue vehicle. I found that funny.
ReplyDeleteRockets were used to carry ropes out to ships in distress, so a missile is not far off.
ReplyDeleteA projectile of such size could capsize a good size ship. This is obviously intended for military purposes.
