This was an interesting auction I saw last month. A piece of shop display material for Century 21 that's new to the blog.
You ever seen one readers?
Century 21 Records original UK shop display poster issued by Record Retailer magazine, 1965. This poster was for use in record shops to promote the launch of Century 21 label and advertised the first six EPs to be released.
17 x 11 inches (approx).
Note the issue info in the right hand margin: Record Retailer and Music Industry News (date?) October 1965.
ReplyDeleteCheers Arto, not spotted that.
DeleteIf I had been in England in the mid-1960s, I would have been in constant ecstasy, all the cool C21 things floating around. As it is, we got just enough of the TV shows and merchandise in the US to keep from complete depression! This is pretty obvious I guess, but I date the golden age of classic SF as being between circa 1964 (Stingray, Thunderbirds, etc.) and 1970, shortly after the moon landing. Whenever I find something ultra cool, its almost always from that small window of time...
ReplyDeleteThat should be the title of a book about the 60's space boom, A Small Window of Time. Great stuff Zigg.

DeleteOne of the few things left on my "Bucket List" is to create a small print book of photos of the 20 or so Japan SF models I've been lucky enough to have acquired and built over the years. If I ever do get around to it, free copies to anyone who is interested! Almost all of these beauties date from '66 to about '71... truly a golden age...
DeleteCount me in. A wonderful idea!
