How I loved these books and the How and Why Book of Prehistoric Mammals was a favourite. Just look at that cover to get a blast from the sabre-toothed past!
I think I only had about three or four of the How and Why Wonder Books, but I always thought they were really good. They certainly covered a wide range of subjects. Well worth picking up when you see them.
I remember having a couple of these in the '70s, Woodsy. They just have been a popular source of info for kidz. I never see them at car boots these days though.
I had the Dinosaur one, loved it for the big green Elasmosaurus on a whole page and the slightly aggrieved looking Brontosaurus on the cover. Also had Flight and the space one too

ReplyDeleteThey were the googles of their day Tone along with encyclopedias! I adored books like that.

DeleteDidn't own any of them, I dont think, but devoured them at school and in the local library. Especially the space related ones.
