HOW AND WHY?

How I loved these books and the How and Why Book of Prehistoric Mammals was a favourite. Just look at that cover to get a blast from the sabre-toothed past!

Did you have this book?

I think I only had about three or four of the How and Why Wonder Books, but I always thought they were really good. They certainly covered a wide range of subjects. Well worth picking up when you see them.

  2. I remember having a couple of these in the '70s, Woodsy. They just have been a popular source of info for kidz. I never see them at car boots these days though.

    1. They were the googles of their day Tone along with encyclopedias! I adored books like that.

  3. I had the Dinosaur one, loved it for the big green Elasmosaurus on a whole page and the slightly aggrieved looking Brontosaurus on the cover. Also had Flight and the space one too

  5. It was the quality of the covers and illustrations inside that made them so appealing to me.
