TAITO THUNDERBIRDS

A few photos I've posted before of the Taito Thunderbirds range. These models are pretty much just larger versions of the Konami Thunderbirds, and for the most part are really quite impressive considering they were just prizes in slot machines.

Thunderbird 1 looks very nice, although it would benefit by having landing gear, or even a display stand.

Thunderbird 2 is the biggest disappointment of the range as it isn't the right shape and has those awful circular intakes just like it's little Konami cousin. It does come with legs and a removable pod.

Thunderbird 3, like Thunderbird 2 isn't quite right, but it still looks good and gets away with it.

Thunderbird 4 is excellent, it even has cabin detail.

Thunderbird 5 has some nice detail, but could do with thinner upper antennas.

Finally the Mole, which does tilt, move forward slightly and spin by hand.

  1. You take lovely photos. They're as good (if not better) as any of the Gerry Anderson studio shots that appeared on the front covers of TV Century 21.

    1. Thanks Woodsy. I enjoy taking photos of anything as long as it looks interesting to me.

    2. I'd like to see you take some Stingray pics, utilising the Matchbox Marineville Playset. I think you'd do wonders with it.

  3. Note that TB3 can be docked with the TB5 model to make an impressive twosome display
