THE THOMAS SALTER ADVENTURE KIT: FOR THE RAMBO IN US ALL

Here's another toy I used to have. Well sort of. This is a later version from 1974 - The Thomas Salter Adventure Kit - shown bottom right in this Thompson Toys Catalogue 74/75. It cost just £4.98 back then - those were the days. I loved my Adventure kit in the Sixties: water bottle, torch, belt, pouch. Does anyone remember it? It's funny but the Dekker Astronaut suit top left on the page (£7.95!) is the ONLY space toy in the entire catalogue of 43 pages. I suppose the space craze had virtually dissapeared by then. For me 1974 meant KUNG FU and HEAVY ROCK!

  1. I had the adventure kit and took it on a school holiday in 1975. I still have the compass and use it to this day.

  3. I had the adventure kit it came complete with a very sharp pen knife. My brother cut his thumb opening it up on Christmas morning. I'm not sure what age group it was aimed at?
