This Space:1999 beach towel would be perfect for my upcoming holiday.

  1. Wow, now that's a towel! It'll be a pity to get up off it!

    1. It's amazing what merchandise was released. I never knew about this, Woodsy.

  2. They would have come in handy for the events in 'The Last Sunset'.

    1. Actually, it certainly would, Kev, good point. I wonder if there's a pile of them in the artificial solarium on Alpha? ;D

  3. Nice artwork. Despite the matching slots in the pods above the landing pads, I don't think we ever saw an Eagle with retracted landing gear in the series.
Even when they were crashing, they always came in with gear down!

    1. I believe there was an intention that the landing gear would retract but the idea was abandoned as it was thought that you wouldn't be able to tell whether the Eagle was flying upright or down. Not important in space, of course, but I suppose they were considering the viewer.
It does appear with landing gear up in some of the strips in the Charlton comics , and on a cover of a Space1999 colouring book.
