Ed's Star Trek Blueprints

Woodsy,

You guys are a bad influence - in a good way 🙂

I got to thinking of the few Star Trek items I had back in the day, and one of them was this set of blueprints for the U.S.S. Enterprise NC1701.

I bought mine at a bookstore in a mall back in '75 and it was the first edition. Other than the books and the AMT kits for the Enterprise and Klingon Bird of Prey, that was my entire 'collection' back in the '70s - no toys.

Anywho, fortunately, these blueprints are still out there and they're quite reasonably priced. Mine is in overall VG+ condition with a couple of pages a bit yellowed with age, however they are just as I remembered them.

Whoever was responsible for the interior design of the ship was a genius. It is - to my way of thinking - well laid out and highly detailed.

There are twelve sheets with each sheet measuring 9" x 30" making it impossible to scan (even with my large format scanner). So I did the next best thing, I photographed them. Enjoy!

  2. Those are fascinating. I wonder if the interior schematics were designed originally for the TV series, or were created solely for consumer products like this? It's an awful lot of work, either way! SFZ

    1. Zigg, as these came out years after the show died, I'm fairly certain they were created as
a consumer product. But clearly someone put a lot of thought into these.

  4. WOW! What a super compilation! Many Thanx! I ended up subscribing to Mr. Trek's YouTube channel to keep up with his build of the USS Enterprise. And those digitized scans of the blueprints are awesome!
