Here are some photos of my haul from a toy fair [a couple of years ago] in Auckland.
First up, a look at the die-casts.
The model of Uncle Scrooge's Car is by the Italian company Politoys. A little bit of damage - it is missing both rear view mirrors, and the hood ornament which is a dollar sign.
Uncle Scrooge is sitting in the back seat, with his chauffeur at the wheel. Paperon de Paperoni is the Italian name for Scrooge McDuck.
The Pink Panther car is by Dinky Toys, model number 354. The box is a modern reproduction, not an original. Very pink.
Various die-casts: the large bus is a Corgi, and has Corgi advertising on the sides. The large truck and the small trolley bus are Matchbox. The Studebaker Wagonaire camera car is by Husky (made by Corgi). The red Royal Mail van and the green Post Office Telephones truck are by either Morestone or Budgie (same models, just different names).
See anything you like?

All are very pretty, but I'll take the Scroogemobile, please! SFZ
ReplyDeleteMe too, love it!
DeleteYou could 3D print some mirror and emblem replacements with the right tech. As far as a vacuum metallised finish, I just discovered the Amazing Green Stuff World Chrome paint, also comes in a range of different metallic colours including golds, bronze and copper. The Missus has gone troppo over them, I think I've lost that box set forever!
DeletePink Panther car is cool - I was always amazed at the real thing on the show. I'm not sure the flywheel was such a great idea! Does it come with the ripcord? They are basically the same as the Kenner SSP ones if you can find one. Bill
ReplyDeleteNo, my example lacks the ripcord. Otherwise a very nice model. And I love the Uncle Scrooge car - he was my favourite Disney duck.
ReplyDeleteI picked up a suitable ripcord in a pound shop Paul. It was part of a pull-cord UFO toy.
DeleteThe Scroogemobile is way cool Paul! Great catch!
