Oh Yes they can! This Sears toy Space Bull Horn and Walkie Talkie looks right for the job!
Battery operated with twiddles, buttons and a scope, I would have loved it as a young astronaut hailing my mates drinking Tizer on the space station.
I assume a bull horn is a loud noise maker.
You could scare your big brothers with the horn and then buzz your Mum on the Walkie Talkie and ask what's for tea!
It does look good, I love all the decals of dials and gauges. Very Matt Mason!
Is this something you had? I saw it on an old auction so saved the snaps.
Do you like it readers?
A bull horn is a portable voice amplification device often used for crowd control and what not.
ReplyDeleteA loudspeaker then.
Delete...but as you've implied, totally useless in the vacuum of space!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Kids don't care about that!
DeleteI miss Sears
ReplyDeleteNever had them in the UK.
DeleteInteresting toy Woodsy! If we had anything of the sort I simply can't remember - this would have flown w-a-y under my radar as a young 'un. I was a loud enough kid as it was, didn't need a bullhorn - give me a toy cap gun pistol or rifle any day! LOL
